Anne-Sophie Pic is the fourth generation of a family of chefs in Valence, in the Rhône valley. Her father and grandfather both held three Michelin stars at the family restaurant.
She took over Maison Pic in the late 1990s, largely self-taught in the kitchen, and regained its third Michelin star in 2007.
Her cooking is known for subtle aromatic combinations and precise sauces. She also runs restaurants in other cities, including Paris and London.
