Dominique Crenn was born in France in 1965 and moved to San Francisco to cook in the late 1980s.
She opened Atelier Crenn in 2011. Its tasting menus are introduced with a short poem and draw on memories of her childhood in Brittany.
In 2018 Atelier Crenn received three Michelin stars, making Crenn the first female chef in the United States to earn that rating.
